  1. Why use hoteljobs?
    Its all in the name, if people search for hotel and catering jobs, they will come to us!
  2. Do I have to pay or register to search for jobs?
    No, it is absolutely free, you only have to register if you want to receive job alerts, newsletters and if you want to post your CV on our database.
  3. Why place my CV on your database?
    Most recruiters now do what they call CV mining, and will search through our database of CV's to find suitable candidates. Recruiters can search our database to find jobseekers eg you that best match the positions they have. This way, you stand a chance of being offered a job that suits your skills without having to look for it.
  4. What is CV Status?
    Once you have uploaded your CV, choosing 'active' indicates that you want prospective employers to be able to find your CV during CV searches. Because employers may search for CVs before they post a job, choosing the 'active' option will give you the widest access to possible job opportunities. If you do not wish prospective employers to view your CV, set your CV status to 'suspended'.
  5. What does remain anonymous mean?
    Would you like employers to find your CV, but don't want your current employer to know you are looking for a new job? Save your CV as 'active', but hide your contact details, ie: Your name, telephone numbers, email address and photo. Employers who are interested in your CV will contact you via your confidential HotelJobsNewZealand.co.nz email address. You will then have the option to grant or deny them permission to view your contact details.
  6. Can I send my application to you?
    HotelJobsNewZealand.co.nz is not a recruitment agency, so we don't accept CVs or job applications by post or email. The website is designed to allow you to search for jobs, and to allow recruiters to match you to their positions if you choose to upload your CV on our database. When you apply for a job, your details are sent directly to the recruiter.
  7. Why haven't I had a response to my application?
    When you apply for a job advertised on hoteljobsnewzealand.co.nz, you are emailing the advertiser. HotelJobsNewZealand.co.nz does encourage our advertisers to respond to all applications, but unfortunately this is not always the case.

    No, we do not believe in lengthy contacts; all our contracts are no longer than one month.

  7. Why do some candidate details appear hidden?
    The candidate has chosen to keep their contact details anonymous. You can request to view the candidate's details, and they will either grant or deny you permission.
  8. What is CV mining?
    This facility gives you access to our CV database, and you are able to search for suitable candidates.
  9. Do your prices include GST?
    No all our prices are GST exempt.

  12. Does my business logo appear on your home page?
    If you upload your business logo it will appear on our web pages, all logo's are shown in random order.

  15. What types of jobs can I advertise?
    Anything that relates to the hotel, catering and hospitality industry.
  16. Do you have any rules on job postings?
    Yes here are some of them, but also see our Terms and Conditions.

    • No duplicating of jobs at the expense of other clients' jobs.
    • No multiple use of keywords in job descriptions or job titles. Multiple means deliberately inserting words, strings of words, or repeating job titles.
    • Job advertisements placed on HotelJobsNewZealand.co.nz must be for genuine vacancies only, and not for other products or services, either relating to or unrelated to recruitment including, but not limited to, affiliate schemes, pyramid selling schemes or any other so called 'business opportunity'. We do not except ads that says for example: "Hundreds of chef jobs available". Jobs must be specific and genuine!
    • URLs or email links are not permitted in the body copy of the job description page. Email links are only permitted where we ask you to enter them.
